Joint Base Andrews Commissary Evacuated In Maryland For Reported HazMat Situation (Developing)

The Joint Base Andrews Commissary was evacuated on Wednesday morning in Prince George's County due to a HazMat situation.

At around 11 a.m. on Oct. 2, the building was was cleared while an investigation was launched at the facility. 

Officials noted that the incident was isolated to the commissary, though residents have been advised to avoid the area as first responders and emergency management crews were at the scene.

"If you were at the commissary at the time of evacuation at (or) around 11:00, and feel light-headed or nauseous, please seek medical support at the Malcolm Grove ECC," they said.

The incident remains under investigation.
